Candace Niyerce

So it begins.... voila, c’est Candace!!!

She’s Xyrodas, Asta, and Raze’s martial arts instructor. Candace is a cruel task-master, but she has a kind-streak a mile wide She has over 50 students at her school and a widespread group of friends. However, her closest companions are Xyrodas, her adoptive son, and well as Raze and Asta, his best buds. Thought the three of them are attending the local University, they visit her often. Her home is a large, second floor apartment, with the first floor holding her dojo.

Candace is has been well-trained is several styles of combat. Kung Fu, Tai Qwon Do, Hap Ki Do, and Freestyle have helped her create her own fighting style, which focuses on powerful kicks. Makes sense, considering her massive hooves. Another favorite style of hers is , which looks a lot like breakdancing.

Candace grew up as the daughter of a her red Mustang father, and her mother who was an Apaloosa. That’s why Candy’s spots are red. She had few friends and was a major trouble-maker.
She was called “Hell Horse” in middle-school. After her parents died when she was in 6th Grade, she dropped out. Candace began moving from city to city, hoping to find something to stay for.

One night, she was out late for a run when some unknown Anthro shot her. The bullet pierced her lung, deflating it, but luckily for her, the doctors at th hospital were able to save her. The cost of the operation used up all of the money she had left from her parents though, after leaving the hospital, she wandered the streets aimlessly. Candace happened to walk by a dojo, intrigued by the people inside, she walked in, sat down, and watched. Candace was quite a brawler already, but this new show of precision and control astounded her. She left when class was over, but returned every day to watch the students.

After a week, the dojo sensei approached her and asked if she’d like to enroll. When Candace told him that she had no money, he said that she could attend for free, if that was okay wit her parents. Candace told him that they were dead and she was living on the streets. The sensei then insisted that she not only attend the dojo, but live with him as well. Candace agreed.

The elderly white tiger Anthro who ran that dojo was named Alexander and became Candace’s mentor and father of sorts. It was thanks to him that her life had a total turn-around. She became respectful and stopped picking fights. Candy still has a wild side, but it’s is harmonized with purity.

Candace absorbed everything Alexander taught her with vigor, she rose rapidly through the belt levels till Alexander began having her teach classes to improve her skills. When Candace became a 2nd-degree black belt, Alexander asked her to attend a different martial arts school so she could learn more styles. He’d already asked the sensei of the other schools if this would be okay, they’d all said yes. Candace at first didn’t want to leave Alexander with his failing health. But after Alex persistent insisting, she gave in. Candace was 17 at the time.

From then on, Candace traveled around to different host dojos. She mastered the school’s style and moved on, occasionally returning home to Alexander to look after him. When Candace was 21, Alex closed the dojo, unable to keep it running. When she was 23, Alexander fell horribly ill during the winter and died shortly after. He left all he had to Candace, along with the request that she open her own dojo one day. She took it to heart and continued to travel around, learning various styles and at the same time looking for a place to set up her dojo. Candace found the perfect city at the age of 25 and promptly opened her school of martial arts. The school quickly got students, letting Candace carry out Alexander’s wish.

One year later, she decided to take a trip to the jungle as a vacation. There, she “met” Xyrodas. Later, Raze and Asta enrolled at her dojo. Candace has kinda been the den mother of the group.

She never really adopted Xyrodas, but he lived with her for 15 years.

Candace has a wild, fun personality that makes her quite vivacious. Candy is also very stylish and really supports Raze’s love of fashion design. She’s willing to take some crazy risks that even make Xyrodas, Asta, and Raze worry sometimes.

Candace was fun to create physically, her clothes were a bit harder. I modeled her hair after my 6th Grade PE teacher. Her name was Jackie Gay and was seriously cool Except Miss Gay is in her 20s.
