Bayal by lotus-devil Bayal by lotus-devil
Here’s Bayal, one of my newest Anthros. I’ll give you guy the stats first!:D

Name: Bayal
Race: Ki-Rin Anthro (Oriental Unicorn)
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 168 lbs
Age: 56 (looks 22)
Hair Color: Cerulean blue
Eye Color: royal blue
Significant other: none
Past: I haven’t really figured this one out yet. I’ll post it when I do.

Personality: He’s really quiet and kinda dark and moody. He’s a great fighter and really intelligent. He’s fighting someone, but who? Whenever someone sees him, he’s always in his white trench coat and looks distant. He says he doesn’t have any friends, but there are those he finds himself with, like magnetism. And though he won’t say it, he enjoys their company.

Wow, I made him sound like Vincent from FFVII. Well, they both are kinda dark, but not that much alike :D

Just writing this makes me want to draw Bayal. He’s been in my head since spring, but I just drew this a few weeks ago. His tail looks a little stiff, but I’ve worked out the kinks. I’m so happy that I’ve made a Ki-rin Anthro, I wanted to for ages :giggle:

If you want to see what a Ki-Rin looks like, use wiki. But the version I used is by a sculpture company called Windstone, the artist is M. Pena. Check their site out, the art is amazing. Some of the staff even made Anthro scultpures!!! :boogie:

Done in 2.5 hrs
Done with Sakura Pens, Sharpies, and colored pencils

I’ve done a few more sketches of Bayal, so hopefully I’ll post them soon :heart;
Bayal: ...okay.

:love: Everyone!

:omg: :giggle: I'm so happy you like Bayal! Sadly, I've kinda been ignoring him ^^; (sorry Bayal) It's great to see that he's getting some love :D
I'm so proud of his hair, but you have no ideas how it killed my colored pencil :XD: Oh well, it was so worth it.
and I didn't mention this eariler, but thank you so much for all the faves! It really means a lot to me :love:

no prob but i can see how it killed the pencil ^^;...i do that aswell i tend to over do it when i colour and the amount of penicls i have to buy...mainly the blue...but his tail is so damn fluffy ^^

I hear ya. It makes me happy that colored penicls are like $7 for a pack of 50. pretty good. The killer is good inking pens. The ones I'm using right now only cost around $7, but i've had ones that cost $15. It's crazy!
I've got this gallon sized ziplock bag full of colored pencils, and they're all different lengths. If you dug all of one color out, you'd probably find 3 of them, and all different sizes, so I bet you could track what I've been coloring just based on that :giggle:
what sucks is that the color i used on Bayal's hair was an electric blue from Prang, I think, and I don't normally buy prang, so I might have to find an alternative... it's kind of a pain ^^;

And if you want a fluffy tail, you should see some of my other Anthros. My character raze is half fos/half wolf, and her tails are pouffs :XD:
thanks for praising Bayal's fluffyness by the way. Sadly, if you were to say that to his face, he'd probably be really pissed, and get all skulky :giggle:

yeah one of my characters tobias is like that every one likes his fluffy wings ^^;

yeah sam with me but i use karisma's...which arnt cheap i think a set of 25 is about £20 hear ^^;....but they are amazing they blend well and smoothe realy well when you use a white penicl on top...but you cant ink over them as they pretty much really posh wax crayons...and the pens...well i saved up £45 for a really good tenical pen which is refilable so it will last but the nibs are £15 each but its worth it ^^...

i just checked out tobias and you're right, dam his wings are fluffeh *pets*
Wow, 20 euro, I've been to eurpoe and that is super expensive! But sound liek they work really well. too bad i'd never be able to order them. Sound to me like you can get your hands on some pretty amazing stuff over ther. Here in america, all we have is michaels, which is a pretty cruddy craft store. there's this great artist specialty store not to far away from my home, but not nly do they cost an arm and a leg, but the store had to reduce its floor space, so now it's mostly just craft stuff too, which is really not fair. Ah well, there's always Wal-Mart *dies*
but since you're willing to spend that much on great art supplies, your art really shows it. I just took a quick glance, and I'm amazed!
Mind if I watch you?;P

not at all ^^

but i have to svae alot for the stuff but the pencils last a while even though i go through them...alot ^^; but whats expensive is buying the ink good ink isnt cheap and you then have to look after it ^^;...some times i miss my old cheap stuff but they never really did the trick ^^;

that's the main problem with the area i live in. It's not an artist community at all, so any good supplies are either non-existent, or are taken off the shelves very quickly. That's why I decided to use the cheaper stuff. It's not as good but it's easy to come by, and i knopw that the shops will most likely always have them :D
I have some nibd and good inkwells at home, but the problem is that whenever I'mn ready to ink something, I either forget about my inks, or I'm ging to be inking at shcool, and i can't take naibs and an inkwell there, they'd get trashed. It's so not fair, but that's the way it is :stab:
Leviathan: There, there, it's okay *pats shoulder*

oh, by the way, I'm working on a new pic of Bayal. You finding him has made want to draw him more, thanks!! :hug:

Interesting... (What was it?) Unicorn?
I've seen Unicorn-Anthros before, but nothing like this. Nice design for a change on it, though.
The tail and hair look gorgeous. Are those Scales? Or beads of sweat?
The colors are really Bright for someone with a Dark Personality. Neat topic, but could possibly get in his way. When I first seen him, I really thought he was more of a happy person! That could be an interesting Character Flaw right there :giggle:

haha, you do have a point! :D
But yeah, Ki-Rins are asian unicorns, I've really loved them, so I'm glad I finally made a Anthro of one :giggle:
Hmm, a charatcer flaw, I like it :D
But also, you can't judge a book by it's cover :D
Oh, and those are scales. If you want to see what model I used, google "Windstone Ki-Rin" It's a statue that is really adoreable, I love Winstone's stuff, I think you would too :hug:

I'm so happy you like Bayal! I'm gonna do more of him, don't you worry! I spent an entire day just sketching him, so I'll be posting those soon ;P
And thanks for saying he's original, that's one of my peeves is when someone says "_ looks like so and so" :D I dunno if he's the first Ki-Rin anthro, but either way I adore him already, and your comment made me love him even more :giggle:
And I'd love to see you draw him sometime :hug:
Thanks times a million! ;P
